Why Cats?
Cats have fascinated people for thousands of years. Some rule the African savanna, others stalk snowy forests, and millions spend their afternoons sleeping on living room couches. Despite their differences, every member of the cat family belongs to the biological family Felidae.

While lions famously gather in prides, many wild cats are naturally solitary. As a result, collective nouns for some species are rare, historical, or simply creative terms that have appeared over time.
